Ways to Give
Please call the OTS Development Office in the USA at (919) 684-5774
or in Costa Rica (506) 240-6696 for more specific information.
Matching Gifts
OTS is eligible for corporate matching gifts through Duke University.
If your company has a matching gifts program, please make your check
out to "OTS/Duke" and include the matching gift form with your check.
Stock
Gifts of stock are welcomed and can be transferred directly to OTS.
Planned Gifts
Planned giving is critical to the growth of OTS' endowments. Please
consider OTS in your will or in establishing a charitable trust
or gift annuity. Broadly defined as the present commitment of a
future interest in gift property, planned giving is an increasingly
popular means of providing significant support for charitable institutions
along with tax benefits. Early emphasis in OTS has been placed on
bequests and gifts as part of estate planning, since these are the
most common planned giving instruments in use.
Named
Endowments
The OTS fellowship program, education program, and the three field
stations provide an opportunity for named endowments. An endowment
is invested sum of money which accumulates interest yearly. Each
year the interest on the principal is spent on the stated purpose,
with the principal remaining intact. Due to the nature of an endowment,
there is a minimum gift of $10,000 required for named endowments.
See the fellowships
page for a list of current named fellowship endowments.
Tributes
A Tribute gives donors the opportunity to honor a friend, relative
or colleague by making a memorial to his/her life or celebrating
a special occasion. To honor someone with a Tribute gift, send a
note along with your donation stating the person to be honored,
occasion, name and address of the person to receive the acknowledgment,
and your name and address. The person you designate will receive
a special card acknowledging your gift as well as all of the benefits
of membership.
